Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and Chairman Nigerian Governor’s Forum, has described Youths as Goal Driven Oriented Set of human beings.
Fayemi represented by his Deputy, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi spoke during the programme to celebrate the International Youth Day 2021.
The programme, held at the Adetiloye Hall in Ado-Ekiti, with the Theme “Transforming Food Systems” noted that, despite the economic challenges facing the state and the nation at large, led to unemployment and social economic development.
He commended Ekiti Youths steadfastness and courageous heart in the transformation Agenda of the State and at large.
“Our Youths are of high importance leading to their occupying high positions in Nigerian. I’ll continually give hope for them in my adminstration, but they should keep blazing the trail of leadership positions.
The Special Adviser, Development Partnership, Dr Margret Fagboyo, said the occasion is used for food choices.
She noted that the proactive actions of Governor Kayode Fayemi-led administration has given hope to Youths against the ravaging Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In his own speech, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and Chairman Sustainable Development Goals, Office of the Governor implementation goals, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, thanked the leadership and members of Ekiti State Youths for their doggedness, upright and ready to serve mission.
“Youthfulness is a means of adventurisim. The responsibility of government is to promote visible platforms for Youths Development.
“There’s global competition among the Youths of nowadays unlike years back. It is high time we celebrate Nigerian and Ekiti Youths.
“The world is now a global village. SDG in Ekiti State is available to help the youths,”he added.
However, Hon. Olalekan Soyombo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths, canvassed more Youths participation in Leadership.
“It is very important for the contemporary youths to come together and work for certain Progressive Nature.
Governor Fayemi-led administration has laid good foundation for Youths to develop, “I only want to appeal to our youths not to let it not go other way round.”
The programme was organized by Ekiti State Government through Sustainable Development Goals, Office of the Governor in Partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Dignitaries at the programme are: Prince Adetoyi, Commisioner for Agriculture, Hon. Fakunle Okieme, Commisioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Commisioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Micheal Awopetu, among others.
Other activities to mark the day include a road walk by youth groups from Old Textile to Fountain Hotel.
