Buhari sends message to Sultan of Sokoto over his 15 years on throne

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, sent a message to Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, as he marks his 15th year as the leader of Muslim Ummah and Chairman, Sokoto State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Buhari’s message to the monarch was conveyed in a statement to DAILY POST and signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Buhari described the Sultan as a “peacebuilder and a true embodiment of commitment to service,” adding that he’s a leader who dedicated his life to the welfare of the people.

The statement read, “Greetings to His Eminence, the Sultan in his 15th year on the throne of his fathers.

“On behalf of my family and I, the government and people of Nigeria, I wish you many more years in the position and working tirelessly to promote inter-religious and inter-communal harmony throughout the federation.

“It’s very reassuring to have such leadership at these challenging times.”

Buhari also prayed Allah to grant the Sultan long and healthy life.
