To enhance value delivery to citizens through digitalised services, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, led a delegation including partners from Flutterwave and Alami to a strategic meeting with the CEO of SMEDAN, Mr. Charles Odii. The focus of the discussion was on fostering a partnership aimed at improving access to financing and digital tools for MSMEs.
During the meeting, the Director General emphasised the transformative impact of digitalisation on MSMEs, noting that digitally empowered businesses increase productivity by up to 120%, a significant advantage for Nigeria’s economic growth.
He expressed strong support for the collaboration and reaffirmed NITDA’s commitment to championing digital capacity building initiatives for MSMEs.
As a result of this engagement, Flutterwave, Alami and SMEDAN formalised their commitment by signing an MoU, with the Director General, NITDA serving as an oversight figure to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the agreement.
This partnership marks a significant step towards empowering MSMEs through digital transformation, driving financial inclusion, and fostering a more resilient digital economy.
