A Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, has discharged popular singer Abdulazeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of rising artist Aloba Oladimeji IleriOluwa, popularly called Mohbad. The court also exonerated music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
Presiding Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, relying on legal advice from the Lagos Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), ruled that Naira Marley and the others had no case to answer regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
However, the DPP recommended that Mohbad’s auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and his friend, Ayobami Sadiq, face prosecution for alleged reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. Their trial is set to proceed at the Magistrate Court.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with fans and stakeholders in the music industry closely following developments. Further updates are expected as the trial progresses.
