Democracy rewards memory, wisdom, and informed decision-making. As the 2027 general elections approach, the people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, comprising Moba, Ido-Osi, and Ilejemeje Local Government Areas, stand once again before a defining choice that will shape their voice and relevance at the national level.
The Green Chamber of the National Assembly is not a place for political apprenticeship or experimentation. It is a serious legislative arena that demands experience, constitutional knowledge, and the courage to speak and act. Constituencies that ignore these realities often pay the price in lost influence and missed opportunities.
Honourable Ibraheem Kunle Olarewaju represents tested capacity and informed leadership.
A learned and outspoken constitutional lawyer with many years of professional experience, Hon. Olarewaju represented Ekiti North Federal Constituency II in the 9th House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, serving the people of Moba, Ido-Osi, and Ilejemeje with diligence and responsibility.
During his tenure, he was an active participant in plenary sessions, consistently contributing to legislative debates on constitutional governance, rule of law, democratic accountability, and national policy direction. His interventions were firm, well-reasoned, and grounded in legal expertise, earning him respect as a lawmaker who understood both the letter and spirit of the Constitution.
He sponsored and co-sponsored motions addressing issues of public concern and constituency interest, while also making meaningful inputs on bills considered by the House. Rather than remain silent, he engaged questioning, contributing, and standing for principles that aligned with democratic values and good governance.
Hon. Olarewaju also served on House committees, where he participated in oversight functions, policy reviews, and interface with government agencies. Through committee work, he contributed to strengthening legislative scrutiny and ensuring accountability in governance processes.
He was not a benchwarmer, but a visible, vocal, and responsible legislator who took representation seriously.
Today, he serves as Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), a strategic national role that places him at the centre of executive and legislative engagement. This position has further deepened his understanding of governance, strengthened his institutional relationships, and enhanced his capacity to attract federal attention and opportunities to Ekiti North Federal Constituency II.
As 2027 approaches, the people of Moba, Ido-Osi, and Ilejemeje must pause and reflect:

Ekiti North Federal Constituency II cannot afford another season of learning on the job. What the times demand is a representative who understands the system, respects the Constitution, and can effectively represent the people from day one.
